Pilates initiates a transformation from the inside out. The principles one learns while practicing Pilates are easily transferred to daily, physical, and mental activity thus enhancing the quality of life. With a major emphasis on properly aligning the body and joint stability, Pilates is the perfect complement to all other types of exercise and sports training.

Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. It is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body as well as a sound mind, fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.

Joseph Pilates

Established in April of 2001, The Pilates Center of Oklahoma, LLC provides the highest standard of Pilates Guild ™ instruction. Owned and operated by Laura Wren, a second generation instructor who is certified by Joseph Pilates protegé Romana Kryzanowska.

Pilates may be just be the latest workout hype to many people, but at The Pilates Center of Oklahoma, LLC it is the exercises and philosophies of Joseph Pilates that I teach, and value. Through true classical Pilates exercises you acquire complete control of your own body and then, through proper repetition of its exercises, you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your mental and subconscious activities.

The Pilates Method of body conditioning developed by the legendary physical trainer Joseph H. Pilates, is a full body exercise form that has been in use since the 1920's. Pilates develops and enhances strength, flexibility, control and alignment of the body. Declared "the best workout in Hollywood" by ELLE Magazine, fitness programs based on the exercises of Joseph H. Pilates have become increasingly popular due to the amazing results its practitioners enjoy. By focusing on proper alignment and form, emphasizing quality of movement over quantity, these exercises create improved postural habits. Combined with proper eating habits and cardiovascular exercise, Pilates also beautifully sculpts your body. As an instructor, I combine the original exercises of Joseph Pilates with modern knowledge of bio mechanics to create a total body workout that strengthens, tones, increases flexibility and improves posture.

Not only are stars such as Oprah, Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker reaping the benefits of Pilates, but also professional sports teams from the San Francisco 49'ers to the Cleveland Indians.

Let the benefits of Pilates become your exercise for a lifetime!

Pilates is accessible to anyone no mater their physical condition. Pilates promotes physical harmony and balance for people of all ages and physical conditions while providing a refreshing and energizing workout. Pilates is for people who want to improve their strength and flexibility without building bulk, while improving their posture and alignment. At the Pilates Center of Oklahoma, LLC you will follow a method of exercises tailored to the needs of your body.

Some of the many benefits of Pilates are: stronger and flatter abdominal muscles, better posture, relief of low-back pain and well toned thighs and buttocks.

Regardless of your current level of fitness Pilates can be your primary mode of body conditioning and injury prevention. Physical therapists, chiropractors and orthopedists, are incorporating and encouraging people to integrate Pilates into their rehabilitative exercise and physical therapy programs to speed recovery of soft tissue injuries.

Pilates has a long list of benefits including improved body mechanics, balance, coordination, strength and flexibility.

To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of live we must constantly strive to acquire, strong healthy bodies and develop our minds to limits of our ability.
